The day of the week I try to fix stuff I broke during the week. Today was my Harbor Freight impact gun. It quit working while I was removing an exhaust system. It had power but nothing else. Checked the trigger switch and connections and nothing. As a last resort I got my rubber mallet and beat on it for awhile. Plugged it in, power light came on as it did before, squeezed the trigger and it came to life. Best tool I own, that rubber mallet 
Now if I can just figure out how to open a cable lock that I have forgotten the combination too....
