All,

Yesterday, my wife and I spent the day roaming around NYC and Central Park, with our primary goal to see Strawberry Fields on John Lennon's birthday. Having never been there before it was interesting to see the various ages and people who seemed to enjoy the group of musicians who gave their take on his songs.

Were you able to check out the demonstrators in the financial district?

Had no interest in that and I was not in that area. We did stop at the Dakota and spent some time in Times Square. I liked Central Park.

I received an email from youtube telling me I may have copyright infringements on my video. Just think... you can't video people singing in public without having these problems. I was told that ads may be added to my video at any time in the future. I was going to make it private but I want to see what happens here.

It is a shame when you can't even share your own public video on a public website. Youtube has become cautious of copyright infringement since they won the Viacom lawsuit. So much for fair use. Are they considering your video "distribution" ?

Guy, I think it's the song. I don't see how anyone can own that song, it has become part of life itself, but thats Sony for ya.
I got this error when I tried to view it other than at youtube.

Nowhere that I know of, I just tried to view it with YouTube Downloader. I think that although it resides on YouTube, you can view it elsewhere if you have the URL. Flickr also hosts videos, although I haven't tried it yet. Maybe that would be a more friendly venue. It sounds like YouTube and Sony want to make a buck off of you.
BTW it is an excellent video that captured the spirit of the day. Can your video be copyrighted as you do with photos? Perhaps you should ask for royalties.
