After reading about the Swamp Monster it got me thinking about another old vehicle located in the pines. I have known about it since I was a child and it was still in one piece as of 2 years ago. I don' t much about the tractor besides it being a Fordson Tractor Model F which was built between the years 1917 and 1928. It is an interesting piece of machinery with its metal wheels and the engine and transmission make up the frame. I'm pretty sure it is located on private property so therefore I cannot give out its whereabout. When I played on it as a child 20 years ago it looked like it hadn't moved in years, since trees had ground up around it. The tractor isn't really "in the pines" (as in Wharton State Forest) but it is close. The area seemed to be an old abandoned blueberry field. I would like to find out more info on the property since there is some more old equipment present and 2 small shacks, 1 still standing. I might have old pictures, if I do I'll post them. If not I'll speak to the owner and see if it is still there. I know some people are really into old farm equipment and might want to purchase it, but I say let it stay where it is.

I would surely keep that location quiet even if it is not on private property. Sounds interesting!

Update on Fordson Tractor.

I know this is an old thread but I spoke to a friend of mine who visited the Fordson Tractor lately. Unfortunately someone actually tried to move the tractor by cutting down the trees that had grown up around it. He said they managed to move it about 40-50 yards before the rusted wheels gave out. My friend noted that someone also took the liberty to shoot the side of it with buckshot. Now it just sits in the middle of a small trail and is no longer hidden so who knows what will come of it. I'd like to get back there one more time to look around since there was some other farm equipment and the shack was really cool, at least it was when I was a kid. Too bad Fordson Tractor, RIP.
