I was in the Mountains today scouting places needing clean up. All the roads were, predictably, nasty wet. Here is the road to the Factory Branch. There is a stream running into a puddle that is about 50 yards long and Lord knows how deep:

There is a spot on the road into the Mountain from 539 that is now impassable for 2 wheel drive vehicles. I almost got stuck in my truck. The rain mixed with clay and the ruts are a foot deep and slicker than owl poop. On the way back the ruts grabbed my truck and took over. It was like one of those rides at the fair with a car on train tracks where you just hang on and let it go:

My wheels after that encounter:

Good one Bob :)

That is a muddy area when it gets wet. Did you find any good spots for cleanup?

We have a cleanup scheduled each year and everyone is always welcome and appreciated. Those who really get around the Pines note that the Forked River Mountains are one of the cleanest section of the Pines. To date we have taken out over 287 tons of junk. Each year the people from the surrounding communities graciously put some junk out there for us to pick up (bless their evil hearts).

This year it is Sunday, April 17th. We are meeting at the Lacey Municipal Building. If anyone comes, plan to arrive between 8:30am and 9:00am. I am slated to lead a group cleaning up junk I found along the Factory Branch.

And anyone who doesn't want to do that can help me hang curtain rods and such at my Mom's new house.

Can you get Jessica and I with you?
