Hi all! Gloria and I spent a good deal of time walking and exploring some last Monday.... I was unable to post until this evening. We came across some remarkable things. Who thought pollen could afford such great photo opportunities? Chuckled over the pollen laden pond with frog trails zig-zagging from the edges. Just about trompled over some small leaves growing in the middle of a path and realized they were lady slippers just emerging. As we gazed around we realized that we were in the midst of a "plantation" of them. Beautifully dusted with pollen (so thick I could write my name in it on Gloria's back!). It was then we noticed that some were white. So there we lay on the ground, huge tick magnets, laughing and taking macro photos....
Next we headed into a small spung that is along the trail, just for the opportunity to get our feet wet and check out some HUGE pitcher plant blooms.... problem was, we had to photograph them upside down.
Last stop into a really dark, thick swamp....spider webs kept whisping our faces....took a photo. The pollen on the webs captured with a flash created an effect that made them appear to be floating in mid air.....
