It's coming. We had 3 mornings with heavy frost and daytime temps in the mid/upper 40's. Autumn colors were spot on with high elevations already done :D

Climbed up Whiteface once. That elevator was the toughest one I"ve ever ridden!

We did it the old fashioned way a couple of times over the years. The look on peoples faces when we popped up on top was priceless. And you will be happy to know the road to the top has been repaved, but closed for the season. No more frost heaves ;)

I was up it maybe ten years ago.Don't remember the road being that bad.I do remember feeling guilty when I got to the top and looked down and seen a steady stream of hikers inching their way to the top.Now I"m over 50 so no need to feel guilty anymore.Every one of em looked under 30

We got to the top a couple ways; walk up from the base lodge, take the Little Whiteface ski lift and walk up from the top of it, drive up and either take the elevator, or walk up the rocks. In each case I was way past 30 ;) There is a memorial to the 10th Mountain Division, vets from the 10th built Whiteface ski area, on Little Whiteface and the 10th trains on the mountain. Now that the road is closed, the local are waiting for the first snow and walk up the road with sleds, toboggans, saucers, ski's, anything that can slide. They got some snow last night.

Forecast was right on the money here, 36 degrees at 7:30 AM. Went out for a twilight walk yesterday and could actually see my breath. :)

Maybe even colder tomorrow.

Now it would be nice to get a hard freeze, doesn't look like that will happen tonight though. And Saturday night will be up to 60 degrees again. But the fall colors started coming out on the trees a few days ago and it's starting to look nice in Cape May/Cumberland/Atlantic counties. :)

We are headed on our annual High Point trip tomorrow. Its been an unusual year for autumn colors, lots of leaf drop early around here; some tree's are already bare.
