From Native American settlements to the crossroads of the American Revolution, from our nation's first industrial cities to small farming hamlets, the tides and currents of history have flowed mightily through this state we're in.
Although historic preservation has traditionally been the smallest component of our voter-approved Garden State Preservation Trust, it is of critical importance. This year, after the latest round of funding approved by the New Jersey Legislature is signed by the Governor, $10 million will go toward 58 historic preservation projects across the state.

New Jerseyans just don't care about history. If we had our own Gettysburg or Valley Forge, maybe. There's plenty of history around, but nothing that has a truly compelling story that makes people want to learn more. All folks in Jersey care about is the beach, Bruce Springsteen, and the stadiums up north.
