A basic, non-mapping eTrex with a twist... it charges in the sun. Interesting idea, but $250 seems pretty steep for a GPS that doesn't even have a map.


Didn't do a detailed comparsion, but I think it's pretty similar to the $110 eTrex 10, except for the solar part.

I looked at that when I received a notice from them about it but without a map it is useless to me.

I guess the intended audience for that product is people going on multi-day hikes. Long run-times have always been a selling point of the eTrex series (and an excuse for their limited features and slow processors). But just about any GPS or phone should have sufficient battery life for an afternoon in the Pines. :)
