Al,

I played around and found that if the date of the waypoint is included in the file the slider removes the waypoint as I slide the slider to the left. If I make the GPX file myself and do not add in a date they don't go away. Most of the waypoints I sent you are made by me text wise, so I now know they will always work. By text wise I mean I physically type the GPX file using a text editor in my Mac. GPX files are basically just text.

wish I knew how to do that perhaps I could figure out why my gps will not accept tracks off the compueter.i can convert it to a route and look at it that way but once I start navigating the route disappears since I am navigating to a point and just want to see the track so I know when I'm legal and when I'm not.

So that I am on the same page with everyone, when using GE, you are importing your GPS file via the tool path? Are you also marking off the three boxes next to import: waypoints, tracks and routes?

All I do is click on file ,then open, then you have to hit the drop down menu bottom right that says Google Eartth kml, files etc. and change that to GPX files so the box will even recognize any gpx files you have on your computer in that folder (this is a browse box for your computer files) then click on gpx file of your choice and open. Then you will see a little box with three choices, you want two of them checked "create kml track" and " adjust altitudes to ground height.click ok and GE should zoom into your route, track or waypoints in that gpx file.I hope this works for you,I know different computers display things differently so yours may be a little different.

Thanks Al. I am up to speed now. You are opening a GPX file that is already saved on the computer, while I was importing my tracks directly from my handheld (Garmin). Cool.
