Boyd, this is odd. I created waypoints 1 and 2, but when I tried to create waypoint 3 (clicking on the center cross), waypoint 2 kept coming up instead of the coordinate entry box. I tried many times to create #3, but it refused. So I went to create waypoint 4 (many yards away), and it performed the task. Is there something going on with how far apart you have to be? I hope I explained this right. I put both 2 and 3 on another program..they are 120 feet apart.

The cross below is where I'm trying to add 3. Waypoint 2 is 39.09440/74.88190 . Waypoint 3 is 39.09416/74.88155

Yeah, there's kind of an invisible box around each waypoint and if you click there it just opens the waypoint. I found that it needed some room or it was too hard to click accurately on a waypoint (especially on a phone, where a finger is less accurate than a mouse). But the solution is just to zoom in farther where there is more room between waypoints. Looks like you were using the USGS map at zoom level 16 maybe? That's a pretty low-resolution map, zooming in to level 17 will probably fix it. You could use a higher resolution map for creating waypoints that are close together.

Just experimented a bit; created a waypoint and zoomed in to level 17. Had to move about 200 feet away from the first waypoint to be able to create a new one (clicking the middle of the cross hairs). Each zoom level should cut that in half, so you should be able to create waypoints 100 feet apart at zoom level 18 or 50 feet apart at level 19. Would have to actually test to confirm all that, you might be able to make them even closer.

Actually, you can create them even closer together if you "cheat" a little. The waypoint will always be created at the center of the crosshairs, but you can click anywhere within a box around the crosshairs. So, in your screenshot, it would probably work if you clicked to the southeast of the crosshair center. You can play a bit with this yourself, but I suspect you could actually create a new waypoint #3 this way in your example without zooming in.

Looking closer, it appears you were using the USGS national map topo at level 17 in your screenshot. I was able to create waypoint #3 using the trick above (I clicked at the bottom right corner of the invisible box around the crosshairs).

But zooming in another click makes it much easier. Plenty of room to create another waypoint with no tricks zoomed to level 18, even easier at level 19. This screenshot is level 18.

Thanks Boyd, I just tried the cheat you suggested and it worked. That's the easiest way to do it, and you can always verify it has the correct coordinates.
