I decided to try to find the big gun club with the covered picnic area that my friend and I stumbled on back in 2000 when we were somewhere between Bullock and Buckingham. This has been my third attempt at finding it, and again I struck out. I did, however, find some interesting ruins along the way:

The first set of ruins seemed pretty old. There was one large cellar hole, and two foundations nearby. The building must have been pretty substantial. The road leading there was very tight, so I don't think that they get visited much. Right out in the open was an old beer bottle (green glass, without a neck) and an old beer can with the oil can openings.

The second set were more modern, and slightly bigger than the first. There also was a decent size shed still standing, and a big "pond" behind the ruins.

The coordinates for the first set of ruins are N 39.9217, W 74.4451. The second set is right down the road as you can see from the map posted in the gallery.

I also had the "fun" of driving down Broken Arm Road. What a tight, nasty road that is. Eventually you get to an area where the road crosses Mount Misery Brook. Unfortunately no bridge is provided. Since I didn't feel like reversing for a mile or so, the only way was forward. All I can say is that I am happy that my Jeep has front and rear air lockers, because I think that if it didn't I would have gotten stuck.

How deep was the stream? Where did the water come up to on the jeep? Just curious if I should attempt this in the Blazer... I plan on explorng the Calico area as extensively as possible later this summer. The Blazer will surely take me down roads that will lead to new discoveries.

The water came up to the bottom of the doors. On my Jeep that's fairly high.

Also, this was nowhere near Calico.

I stumbled upon these ruins today, without a doubt must of been a gun club. The ruins on the way in seem a lot older then the other ruins. There was a small metal shed of some sort, riddled with buckshot. Also there was lots or old trash probably left over from when the place "went under". From there I decided to drive to Buckingham, and found keep out signs posted all over the area where most of the ruins are. The people at the hunting lodge seem to not want people back there snooping around so I just left.
