Turned into a non-event

The meaning of "event" might depend on where you live…. :D

Interesting - altho 6+ inches fell, when I shoveled it at end of its falling, it had compacted to maybe 2 inches, was wet and HEAVY.

I was worried about this snow because I had to replace the front wheel bearing on my car today. It was to the point I could not drive high speeds. So I shoveled twice around my car last night to remove all traces of the snow and I had no problems today. Had to take the housing to work and press it out and back in as well as remove the race by milling it off. The slightly warmer weather made it nice.

Headed up to NYC early this morning for my Granddaughter's birthday party. We had 1 to 2 inches snow at my place. Accumulation was noticeably heavier from Toms River on North, the trees were heavily coated with white and Parkway was a bit sloppy. Here's a map from the NWS

http://www.erh.noaa.gov/hydromet/hydrometDisplay.php?event=stormTotalv3_48&element=snow&centeron=PHI

On the way home, temperature was about 45 in NYC and rose as I headed South, it was 55 when I got home. There was still plenty of snow on the ground at Woodmansie and along Rt 563. At Egg Harbor City there was very little snow, and there wasn't a speck of white left in Mays Landing.

I'm getting so tired of this winter, but how much do you wanna bet that we get an April snow this year?
