As a third layer of protection I copied critical pictures and videos to double layer blue rad discs, 50GB each but you won't get quite that much, and stored them at my mothers house.

I keep a password secured drive at my moms house also. Every few months I pick it up and bring it home and take it back the next week. I would never trust one location for my files.
