Allright, so I'm new to the whole tide charts thing. I'm thinking of paddling the Mullica tomorrow from around Sweetwater upstream and back. What do I have to do to have an easier time going against the current, paddle upstream while the higher tide is coming in? Or am I far enough away from the coast it wouldn't make much difference. Any help please so I can master this!!

I'll be in my kayak. Go with the flow, yeah. I usually go out solo, so where I start is where I end. I'll usually go upstream on the way out and for the easier ride back.

The Mulica is wide in that area, just stay to the sides and there will be little current.

The link Scott provided is good, and one I consult often.

The tide is certainly a factor in the Sweetwater area, and the current certainly gets strong enough to make a notable difference.
