HISTORIC PLACES & GIS - OCT 27
Date: 6 Oct 2003
From: "Swathy Keshavamurthy" {swathy@preservationnj.org}
HISTORIC PLACES & GIS: MAPPING, UNDERSTANDING, PRESERVING.
The New Jersey Historic Preservation Office and Preservation New
Jersey are pleased to offer a free half day workshop on the benefits
of Geographic Information Systems and the preservation of cultural and
historic resources. We encourage municipal leaders, land use
regulatory boards and commission members, non-profit organizations and
GIS professionals to attend this landmark workshop. Participants will
learn how Cultural Resources GIS can help communities around the State
to more effectively plan, interpret and protect historic resources and
preserve our quality of life. See demonstrations of current GIS
technologies and applications designed to help communities answer the
question: "How can we preserve historic resources if we don't know
where they are?"
The workshop will be held Monday, October 27, 2003 between 1:00-
5:00p.m. in the NJDEP Public Hearing Room at 401 East State Street,
Trenton, NJ. The workshop is free, registration is required. Please
contact Swathy Keshavamurthy at 609-392-6409,
swathy@preservationnj.org or Kinney Clark at 609-292-2023,
