The Holgate unit of Forsythe is closed 4/1 thru 8/31 to all access for nesting Piping Plovers and other beach nesters.

Holgate supports 1/4 to 1/3 of the nesting Plovers in NJ; IBSP and Gateway-Sandy Hook NRA pick up most of the rest. They are on the endangerd list.

I just didn't realize EBF allowed vehicle traffic on the beach at Holgate at all. I have never been out there, only to EBF in other areas.
