I am actually loving it. If you are not out there, you are missing it. I am starting to become very interested in dragon and damsel flies. This one was on sweetwater run today.

they are everywhere! I've seen about as many in my actual back yard as I've seen at the lake. They are bold too...will sit there and let you photograph them. Had one land on the hinge of my glasses the other evening while paddling out on the lake.

On some their faced are cartoonish.

The wave had broken by the time Alfie and I had arrived at the Beaver Pond on the Mullica last evening.

The humidity had been sucked away; temperatures dropped twenty degrees. We also rode over to Hampton Gate Road and enjoyed Deep Run under the full moon before spending the midnight hour recording Bugtropolis at Hampton Gate proper. "Robust coneheads" stole the show.

Summer nights rock.

Bill, that's a keeper. Enter it in the PPA photo contest.

And Boyd, the sky in yours is excellant. It looks painted, and Like God's Hand is going to reach down through the clouds.

Ha! That reminds me of those little wind-up bug toys made of metal from the early 50's or so. We are probably not really seeing the face, just the head with markings and camera reflections.

That looks like an old concrete dam? I see the rocks are embedded in concrete.

he was actually sitting on a cinder block by our garage.

the pic of the beaver pond is absolutely beautiful!!!! i think the pond is one of my favorite places in the "big woods". one of these days i'll get there to see the sun setting again...it's been awhile. "The Heavens DO declare the Glory of God!!!"

the pic of the sand trail make me long for fall!!! no heat, no bugs....just pines and sand!

We saw someone camping along the Mullica last evening. They were in a really nice spot that was illegal, and they even had a fire. We were jealous.
