Huge AWS outage breaks the internet

Have you been affected? Really didn't notice any issues in the things I use earlier today. Was streaming video on Sling on and off but it stopped working sometime around 6:00 PM or so. The site/app would load and show all the channel schedules as usual, but nothing would play when you clicked on it. It would either give an error message or just hang. Still can't stream anything on Sling now and Amazon has been claiming the problem is fixed. :bang:


Meanwhile... no problems at all at today boydsmaps.com - we are Amazon-free! :dance:

I was affected. I listen to a lot of a radio, etc. using echo dots and some stations wouldn’t work, as well as some video content on fire sticks did not work yesterday afternoon and evening. Everything seemed to work OK later last night. I even had some items ordered on Amazon that seemed to be effected with delays in shipment.

Everything is working again this morning. :dance: At least I was able to stream Sirius/XM all day yesterday, even when Sling was down. I cancelled my Prime subscription over a year ago and have pretty much stopped buying stuff at Amazon, so that wasn't a problem for me.

boydsmaps had one of the busiest days in a long time. Maybe people were looking at maps since they couldn't doom-scroll on Reddit? :D
