Hey all,

back in Jersey after a Summer in Virginia. Thought you'd be interested in some shots from Deal and Belmar from Earl. I still have more to add from the day.

Also I have started a collection I've entitled "The REAL Jersey Shore". If I had it my way "The Jersey Shore" would be an hour long show showcasing nothing but live footage from Jersey salt-marshes and natural areas. Here's that set - http://www.fluidr.com/photos/bachmansivory/sets/72157624684813855

And here are some shots from my summer in Virginia - http://www.fluidr.com/photos/bachmansivory/sets/72157623994714938

Enjoy! Please feel free to critique or ask any questions.

great shots....thanks for the links. Your shots from the Shennandoha brought back some memories. On our hike to the falls, a father and young son were trout fishing. A doe was bedded down under the brush. Then my husband spotted a black bear cub....a second later it and it's Mom hightailed it out of the area.

thanks so much!

Thanks guys! Glad to bring back memories. That's something I strive to do with my photos.

Guy,

I didn't, but my girlfriend did. She's an archaeologist, was working at Ferry Farm, George Washington's boyhood home in Fredericksburg. We both had an action packed summer and tried to do as many local trips as possible.

Great photos, as usual. Tell me, why is there such an absence of people at those fully lit amusement areas?

Did you go on that sling-shot thing at Seaside? That think looks so damn cool. I'm afraid, but also may do it some day.

PS: that "watching the surfers" in black and white is the absolute Boss!

Thanks Bob!
They appear deserted due to the fact that it was close to closing time but also the long shutter speeds. People walking by don't "burn" into the exposure as well as stationary objects or bright lights. There were people walking by in those shots, but they were moving quick enough that they became invisible.
