...Increased Risk of Fire Spread through This Afternoon...

There is an increased risk of fire spread through this afternoon.
Relative humidity values are expected to fall to around 20% to
25% across much of the area. This will be combined with north to
northeast winds near 10 to 15 mph, with sporadic gusts of 18 to
20 mph possible at times, temperatures in the mid 60s to near 70
degrees, and abundant sunshine. These conditions will support the
spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become
difficult to control.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properly
extinguish or dispose of any potential ignition sources,
including smoking materials such as cigarette butts. Refer to your
state`s forest fire management agency for more information on
burn restrictions in your local area.

Relative humidity values will remain low into the weekend, however
winds will be much lighter. Burn restrictions may still be in
place given the very dry conditions and lack of any recent
rainfall.

There was some sort of fire over by black run yesterday as I could smell at little mill. Also something going on by kettle run today it seemed.

Bob yesterday we could smell smoke on little mill by the Girl Scout camp. So near the power lines that lead into the sanctuary. It may have been from kings grant small fire or from Tamarac fire in Medford but seemed to maybe be something else. I don’t see any reports though. This am I saw a fire truck going down jackson road towards cedar Woodford. Seems like there is quite a bit of fire activity or at least survellience going on.

VIIRS satellite is detecting heat anomalies off Carranza again - but this seems a little odd, because this area just burned pretty thoroughly in the Tea Time Hill fire in July. It may be in that one little section that did not burn very hot?

Update: After picking up my son we decided to investigate. There’s clearly 2 separate fires. One looks like it’s towards Friendship and another much further away possibly Fort Dix area.

Strong smoke smell at our house last night. My wife wasn't convinced that it was the Burlington County fires and kept checking the woods for a glow. No smoke smell this morning.

There is an increased risk of fire spread Wednesday afternoon.
Relative humidity values are expected to fall to around 35 to 45
percent across much of the area. This will be combined with south
to southwest winds near 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph,
temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees, and abundant
sunshine. These conditions will support the spread of any fires
that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properly

6 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY
FOR SOUTHERN TO CENTRAL NEW JERSEY...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from 11 AM to 6 PM EDT Today.

* AFFECTED AREA...Middlesex, Western Monmouth, Mercer, Salem,
Gloucester, Camden, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean,
Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May and Southeastern Burlington.

* TIMING...From 11 AM to 6 PM EDT Thursday.

* WINDS...North to Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to
30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...In the mid to upper 60s.

* IMPACTS...The combination of very dry conditions, low relative
humidity, and gusty winds will result in favorable conditions
for the rapid spread of fires. Any fires that develop may
become difficult to contain, especially cross the Pine Barrens
region.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly due to a combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels. Any fires
that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult
to contain.
