Yesterday (20 apr 2013) Ro and I went up to the InfoAge Science History Learning Center, just west of Shark River inlet. Dropped off another donation - 450 ohm transmission line, pile of manuals, articles, etc. This is "... an interactive museum focused on the information age technologies at historic Camp Evans. ... dedicated to the preservation and education of information age technologies, as we honor the pioneers of communications. ..." It includes the building used by the Marconi Co. pre-WW1 to receive radio signals from across the Atlantic, taken over by the U.S. Navy in WW1, later turned over to RCA, and later still became Kings College. Sarnoff and Armstrong were amongst those who worked here.
We drove home via back roads; saw how the large northern portion of the Pines have been chopped up and virtually destroyed through carelessness, ignorance, and greed. What wonders were lost?
