I good friend of mine loved rail hunting, actually he loved any bird hunting. He wrote a couple articles about it, and other, for the outdoor magazines; Field & Stream, Sports Afield.

Nice garvey video. I'd like to ask him why he used a hand saw on the planking for fitting when he had a circular saw next to him. I'm sure there's a good answer, just like to hear it. He'd probably say; that's what I started with, and I'm comfortable with it, and I like the feel and sound of it.

I thought the same thing, and was surprised they used nails instead of screws.

Maybe screws hold it too tight. The wood has to swell when wet, like a barrel.
