I've been in there surveying for plants. Only a foot or so deep at most. This photo is from a wet season, most times you can jump from hummock to hummock and/or wade right through it in boots.

Here is a duck blind that looks like a boat way back deep in the holler. I've been to it once with a few members of this site. Seats at least 6.

I have to agree that with the kayak along the road someone was out there in another one.
