All,

Jessica has damaged her boots. They are neoprene. Does anyone have an idea on the best way to fix these? She has such a hard time buying knee boots that fit her and we want to try and save these.

Thanks for the tips! I will look them over and we will decide what to try.

This is the first pair of boots she has ever had that have really worked well. Now this happened. :(

I work in a wetsuit nearly daily. The aquaseal products sold at Dicks are your best bet. Dive shops have big markups, for the same products (sadly.. they have too). You can order aquaseal online as well.

It dries clear. I apply it with cheap acid brushes. Put the unused portion in your freezer...It will stay usable for at least a year.

In a pinch, locally avail 5200 "fast cure" at Home Depot, is also good.but...it only comes in white color.

Thank you. Jessica will keep that in mind and make a decision.

We were at Dicks today and purchased the last aquaseal and put in on her boots. I will check to see how it worked tomorrow night.

The 3M 5200 and the fast cure 4200 can usually be found at boating supply shops like West Marine. Just used the 5200 to repair the floor of the MGB. Tough stuff, unremoveable once cured.

Update:

We finally found an 18 inch fully rubber boot that fits Jessica. They are quite impressive and I may switch to that brand if she does not have any problems with them. They appear to be much better made than my LaCrosse. Total cost $63.99 with free shipping. She tried them on tonight and so far loves them.

Well, it appears gander mountain is out of business so if she needs boots again she may be out of luck. I believe there is a company buying them so maybe they will sell gander mountain boots in the future again. I doubt it though.
