Just a few months back Jessica bought the same boots she had previously at the cost of $100. She has a terrible time finding tall boots to fit her small feet. Anyway, this weekend while walking behind her I noticed the soul of the boot was coming off. By the time we got back to the car it was only held on by a small amount of glue towards the front of her boot. Returning home I pulled the soul off and there was hardly any glue on it at all. We have new boot glue coming soon and are going to try and glue it ourselves.

It it terrible how poorly they were made.

Are they Lacrosse Guy ? Not that it really matters, because they're all coming from China now. Lacrosse was bought by a Chinese company in 2012. I have a really old pair that I use for wet grass and brush and not to actually submerge in in water.

I had those and two different pairs of chest waders torch patched by Blaese's Tire Service in Berlin years ago. They still hold up. Joe Blaese was a master at his craft. He sold his business and he's doing well. He stopped in to visit me two months ago at my office and one of the first questions he had was, How are the boots.? :)

As most of you know I am a Buy-American die hard.. For about 20 years I was buying Red Wing and Chippewa work boots when they both had extensive USA made product lines. Now both have reduced their US lines. Right now, I am in my second year of a pair of 8" Thorogoods. I'm very happy with these and will probably go with them again. Not cheap by any means, but nothing good is..

Poor gluing seems more common these days. When I have hiking boots or sneakers that wear out, usually they are coming apart where glued together before the soles would wear out. I have used E6000 glue to repair some of the shoes with good luck so far, but haven’t tried repairing an entire sole.

Jessica will not do that so we are using the boot glue we like that works really well. I think I can make it work. Scott... she can't buy Lacrosse because they and almost every other boot company do not sell boots in her small size that are tall enough for her use. We have struggled for 25 years trying to find decent boots to fit her.

imkms... I agree concerning poor gluing.

Ohhh! You don't want to reveal the company name? That's ok if you'd rather not.
