I came across this at 9:30 this morning. The car carrier came down Tuckerton Road from the north. I told the driver I was supprised that he didn't get stuck as there are deep ruts in the puddels there. He said he fell into one of them. He had no local knowledge and said he was following the GPS. Joey aparently doesn't have local knowledge either because he rode in with the car carrier and let him come that way. There are dry ways to get to High Crossing and around Joeys puddle. This area has been catching vehicles all year.

I was secretly hoping to see the car go in deeper as it was winched out. Hope he checked the backseat for catfish!

Boyd, we have had delivery trucks, school buses and even an ambulance service become incapacitated when blindly following their GPS (and ignoring common sense).... nothing suprises me any longer.
Thanks for the lift Ed...

For sale - 2003 Saturn L100, maroon with "sand" interior, well maintained and recently professionally detailed. One of a kind. This car is clean as a whistle and never abused or offroaded. Pine scented too.

I wonder what was going through Joey's head when he saw that the water was cascading over the hood and coming in through the doors. Obviously it wasn't stop!:D

Ed,

That is one of the best video's I have viewed on this site. The only way it could have been better is if you climbed in for the ride out. I would have loved to see the water level drop.

What an idiot. Seriously. It always bothers me when I see something like this because all it does is confirm that there are stupid people who walk among us. On top of all that, he's got a clear shot of his plate number in the video.

The video was not taken by him or someone he knew. It was takn by Ed. He had no control over the plate number showing except for the fact he could have not driven into the puddle.

To be honest, very few of us should laugh at this. I have been stuck like that numerious times in the far past and almost was recently. However, I at least check on the depth before going into a puddle like that.

I agree with you Guy. Being called an idiot on top if his misfortune is salt on top of the wound. I've done worse in the pines.

Joey, if you are reading this, you live and learn, right? I hope at least you were with a girl and it was fun up to that point!

What a great video, Ed. Your timing couldn't have been better. I was intrigued by Joey's posture, so I googled... "hands in pockets-body language". The results were, "lack of self confidence" and "embarassment". I guess that fits his situation. He really looks sad!

I do like the way he locked his car in the middle of the puddle. I've done the same thing. Nobody's gonna loot my ride and "add insult to injury".

Sorry guys, but I'll continue to call this guy an idiot. Have we all been stuck? Probably so, but just look at this again. I'll bet that within 2-feet of entering that puddle anyone with common sense and who was not an idiot would have backed-up, turned around and left. If you're unfamiliar with the spot, even taking a 4x4 truck though that would be questionable and proceeded with caution by the driver, if he/she even tried it. This moron decided to attempt in a car.

"Here's your sign".

If anyone is concerned about hurting Joey's feelings, then they should be upset by the fact that his name was used and a video was posted here. But since the video was posted, it's only natural that people here are going to state the obvious - it was just stupid to attempt to drive through such a huge puddle. I don't think I would even call that thing a "puddle". Sometimes you need to call a spade a spade - my father never hesitated to tell me when I did something stupid. But things were different back then...

Yes, we all do stupid things - I've done my share. I'm glad that nobody was there to shoot a video and post it online.
