I visited this cemetery a few months back and a woman there spent 15 minutes complaining to me how poorly it is cared for. She was telling me of the various individuals who bring their own lawn mower to mow individual plots. In the weeks following we noticed this was actually happening.

Interred in this cemetery are many of the individuals who owned or worked at Friendship Bogs as well as the ancestors of a few members of this site. It is located almost across from Senica High School.

Well, what did we expect as a society when we buried people in concrete vaults? We are rightly moving towards cremation, but old cemeteries are hard to upkeep. We can't expect all of them to last forever. I've heard of caskets popping out of the ground during floods.

Perhaps the families of those interred there might consider forming a charitable NPO for the express purpose of maintenance of the cemetery. It is a better cause for one than many that exist.

I drive past this every day and it has been sad to watch. Hopefully they arrive at some sort of solution.
