Just wondering-I'll be graduating with a degree in secondary social studies education and I'll be sending out applications in the Central/Southern Jersey area...anyone teaching around there?
Just out of curiosity, is anyone on this board a teacher?

I used to teach (I am a guitar teacher-private) the superintendant of the Lenepe school district. That was some time ago, sorry I can't remember his name. I taught a social studies teacher at Haddonfield, he didn't care for the system there. I taught a teacher at Pemberton also. She liked the district. I am currently teaching the son of a biology teacher at Shawnee H.S. If you want me to get some sort of info I could ask him if you want.

in some cases you have to have luck.
my daughter teaches chemistry (after a chemical co. paid part of her collage costs) at RVH after just a short period of time subbing.
a regular chemistry teacher became very ill and had to retire so they offered my daughter a contract, now she has nenure

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not really looking just yet-I'll probably start sending out resumes in April/May. I'm just trying to get a feel for the different districts. Wish me luck!
