Lacey Mountains?

I know this is an old cartographer's tradition, but seems like it would be irrelevant today. Google can see exactly who is using their maps and when they were accessed. There are all kinds of digital fingerprints. I wondered if perhaps one of the public parcels in that area was a park that has been given that name? Or perhaps it's just more of Google's questionable user contributed content?

It very well could be similar to that. The Nature Conservancy property is right there, and I'm pretty sure they named it Forked River Mountain Preserve.

May be property owned by an LLC at some point.

Boyd,
Could you actually place errors on a map to help detect copyright infringement? I couldn't.I"d lose sleep at night knowing my map had an error on it:-)
