Lidar Looking

We actually have spent quite a bit of time looking at circular depressions all around the pines the last two weekends. So far we checked on about 15 and have found that they really are nothing of value. I was hoping for unfound cellar holes but if they are there is no evidence so far. Today we looked at these and a few others near West Mills

These look like classic cellar holes but most likely are not.

I would think it was too big for that. It could have been a wooden structure with it dug out under it, or it could just be where someone dug. I really don't know.

I wonder if there is a way to measure them to look for any signs of uniformity. Are they all different sizes and depths ? Is there an kind of pattern among them or anwhere else ?

That is the biggest one I visited. Most were smaller.

The weather cleared and we had a little time this afternoon so we traveled to Greenwood Forest and visited one charcoal site. I picked this one because it is next to a hole. I dug around and found the dirt to be darker than the surrounding area but no evidence of charcoal.
