Lost Greyhound near Waterford!

This morning, young male greyhound got loose from his home in Waterford and was heading towards Wharton State Forest. His name is Blaze; he is a brindle with a white stripe on his nose. He has tags, and I believe a leash is attached to his collar. Greyhounds, although very fast, are generally very gentle. PLEASE, if you see him, or you would like to help search or distribute flyers, call Blaze's owner at 609-922-9866. It's going to be cold tonight and Greyhounds don't have much protection against the elements! Thanks for any help you can offer!
 
He got loose from 1187 Middle Avenue in Waterford. All I know is that he was "headed towards Wharton SF." I'm watching their FB Page (Greyhound Angels) so if I read of any more sightings, I'll post here.

Thanks so much for any help you can offer. I have a greyhound myself, and cannot imagine him alone, scared and cold in the forest!

Excellent... When I just read Middle, I thought wow, very close... To Scott & myself.
I was ready to have an eye out but glad it was found. I have had a number of Jailbreakers to take back over the years, one from on Middle. I suspect your friend already knows but fair to remind them... While the woods can be problematic, a lot of folks turn up with the pet more oft than not and seriously, the most dangerous thing for a wandering dog is probably Chew Road. Lots of speeders and if a dog trots out it could be bad.

Great news and a happy ending :D

I've had 3 pooches go lost on me over the years, 2 while hunting, and one broke and ran out thru the door. Of the 2 while hunting, one was in training with a check cord on her, spent 2 hours searching and finally found her all balled up with the check cord in some briars. Not a good thing for a dog to get loose with a leash on. This same dog went on her own expedition for a half hour the next year and came out hurt on her own, tore her anterior cruciate ligament and had to be carried to the truck. She did the other leg 2 years later. Our other pooch, aptly named Calamity Jane, went lost in Greenwood one afternoon. Spent a long time looking, went back to the truck and looked again. Found her where she went in, but she would not come near me. Finally got her. This same dog busted out of the house one evening during a really bad storm. Neighbors helped us look, but eventually we all went home. Around midnight wife and I decided to drive around once more and upon opening the front door, found blood all over the steps, but no dog. My wife found her hiding in the neighbors shrubs, lsoaking wet, eft front paw all bloodied and swollen to the size of a baseball. She either got in someones trap, or a car or snapping turtle got her. No broken bones , but she was bleeding from every one of her claws where they exited her paw. Vet could not figure out what caused it. All turned out well after a stay at the emergency vets.

Dogs have a way of making life interesting at times, and expensive.
