Every major league baseball used is rubbed in a unique mud from NJ that has it's origin in the Pine Barrens.

i had read years ago that it came from a tributary next to the north/south freeway along cresent blvd (rt 130) near brooklawn next to a welding supply company

Earlier this week on the Travel Channel I watched "Made in America with John Ratzenburger" He did a segment about the rubbing mud. He went out with the guy to harvest it.
