I had forgotten all about that place... did some field trials there some years back trying to identify plants & techniques for restoration of the site. Apparently, nothing worked! Definitely a moonscape.
Did not realize the site was considered "radioactive" as a result of the mining activity. I know just about all water wells from this aquifer are now failing the new standards for radioactivity.
