I poked my head into the Manchester WMA fire area to see if it's worth botanizing after the fire with my friend Mark. This was a hot fire (see cedars below). I think the answer is only a maybe. There are very few roads in here, and getting into the stream area requires a committment of time and energy. I saw the usual after-fire pioneers (like the yellow-leaved trees coming up), but timing may be a bit off. Maybe the following year. The fire was not that huge. Although I could not drive everywhere, it' would mosly fit in the circled area (I'm guessing about the southern part, but I don't see it on Beckerville Road.
