I always wondered why the guy who 2 continents are named after is much less known than other explorers. I think in school we got a sentence or 2 about Vespucci, but entire sections or chapters were dedicated to Magellan, Cabot, Hudson, etc...not that there's anything wrong with that, since they all did their share of exploring, but why was almost nothing written about the guy who our country is named after?

I also wonder why some get much more praise than they deserve, chiefly Columbus.
