Other than the giant puffball, the morel is just about the easiest mushroom to identify. Honey mushrooms are pretty easy, too, if you know what you're looking for. Someone had pointed them out to me years ago, and I recently found a good photo ID and description online. There were three clumps of them at the edge of my property, maybe on the neighbors property, and I was going to pick them. I went to the spot the next day and they were gone. I'm pretty sure he got rid of them because he has young children and thought that they were poisonous. Oh well.
