On Oct 18th at New Egypt Speedway, Mud in the Pines will be doing something a little different. no longer will it be just a pit of mud but it will have two hills added into it to pose more of a challenge and some air catching entertainment. We have been doing the same basic style of mud bogging/ racing for 3 years now and it was time to change. We took popular demands and made them happen. This will no longer be the guy with the most money winning, it will be the guy who has the most set up truck for the environment and a set of brains. No longer will spectators be viewing from behind the fence, for an extra $5 you will be able to come past the fence alot closer to the bog for better pictures, video and just plain old spectating. All the trucks of all of the classes will be there on the infield. No more only seeing one classes worth of trucks at a time. Gates will open at about 11am. Drivers meeting will be at about 12pm. Event will start between 12:30 and 1 pm.
Sidenote:
I was in a meeting with both of the owners of NES to discuss alot of the different things I have been hearing from mud bogging enthusiasts. Luckily they worked with me and are giving me a chance to make this work out for the future. We were very close to losing the event completely. It was just barely paying for itsself if at all at times. The subjects we discussed should definately improve the event. Now what I need from you guys/gals is to come if you have the time. This is a family freindly event. If you have never been to a mud hop before or don't know what it is, its worth checking out. for more pictutes an d information go onto NES website at www.newegyptspeedway.net .
addmission is $15 to spectate $5 to get the better viewing. It's $25 per class to run. with about $2300 (depending on entriy #s) in prize money and trophys in return.
thanks,
Dave (mudboy)
