From AI: When the song "Got to Give It Up" was released in 1977, it was split into a "Part 1" and "Part 2" for its 45 RPM single version due to its original 12-minute length. This was a standard practice in the music industry for releasing extended songs on shorter-format records.

So when he did part 2 on Soul Train, he jumped down into the audience and started dancing with the girls. It's a riot and a lot of fun. That part is at 3:17 in.

I think I might have some auditory whiplash, moving from the Dead to Roy Clark to Marvin Gaye.
But as long as we're here, "Be Thankful for What You Got" is one of my favorite soul songs.
