Ro and I toured Franklin Parker Preserve this afternoon to get botanical data and saw groups of Tundra Swans of 4 and 10 individuals on Eagle Reservoir, 4 more on a reservoir just to the north and 4 more on an old bog in the Jakes Spung area. At the bogs east of Presidential Lakes we saw a big bunch - too far away to count. We saw 3o at Whitesbog.
While a the bogs east of Presidential Lakes, we noted they've been drained, equipment appears to be working on restoring them to producing cranberries.
WRONG TITLE
Should be "Tundra Swans".
Sorry.
Tnx to Rednek350 for getting me to correct the title, which I can't figure out how to do..

Which did you see johnnyb ? Thread title says mute, while your posting says tundra.
Mutes are bad news for other native waterfowl or their habitat.
Many states allow them to be shot and are going to great lengths to remove them.
Their protection was ended in the Migratory Bird Treaty Reform Act in 2004.
