NASA Wallops Flight Facility

One of the coolest personal moments in my life was generated from the Wallops facility. A few years ago, while checking in for camping at Assateague Island Nat'l Seashore, the Ranger said , "you'll have a good night for watching the rocket launch" while pointing to the notice on the counter.
That night, we sat on the beach by a campfire & right on time we looked to the south & saw the flame trail rise into the sky, headed out over the ocean. Most amazing was a minute or so after initially seeing it, we heard the roar of the rocket!
