Got myself a new hiking buddy...his name is Cedar! He's a boxer mix, with a longer nose, so he'll be able to handle breathing in the heat...9 months old, loves the kids, loves to ride in the Jeep, is already housebroken, and doesn't chew or bark! He's a rescue from the SPCA, and boy did I luck out!

Sucker that I am, I'm going back for another kitty on Friday... :mom:

Our other kitty, Willow, isn't too happy with the new pup...

Renee,

Congrats on the new pup. Is he tick proof too? :D

Ha! I wished!

He's funny...won't leave my side for anything--follows at my heels constantly, wants to go everywhere I go, room to room, even sleep on the bed...what a sloppy kisser, too! :p

Little Joseph gets a kick out of his wet willies.

Renee,

Congrats on the new dog. I am looking forward to seeing him. I wonder where the name Cedar came from?

Is there going to be enough room in your car for another pasenger?

Hmm....reddish brown coat, hiking in the Pine Barrens....dunno...

Yep, he'll fit in between Joseph and Kristen, and hopefully they will stop hitting each other with the dog sitting in between them, ha! :argue2:

But mostly, I got him for the times that I tend to go out alone.

Seems my family keeps growing...we've rescued 3 animals from the SPCA since February--two kitties and one dog, and earlier this week wound up with 5 young kitties--one older, and the others from a litter, about 4 or 5 wks old; the older kitty I quarantined, he seems a bit congested, and the younger kitties are also quarantined from our other kitties, but are still together. Feeding those cat milk, and nursing the eye of one of them with warm water and antibiotic, he seems to be better now, went to the vet yesterday with 4 animals! We were able to give away two of the youngest, and the older kitty we took to the SPCA today, which still leaves us with a big dog, and four kitties, two of which are still on milk diets...
Who woulda guessed?
