Hi Everyone. My Name is Tracy. I am new to the forum and somewhat new to the area. I have lived in Pemberton for the past two years now and I am just starting to explore the areas. I want to start by saying, I don't go out and destroy things. I cannot stress that enough. I am an outdoorsy gal and I love taking photos and I love history.
I've only been to a couple of places so far, but I take my jeep out frequently now that the weather is getting warm. I made it out to Hampton Furnace, and I have been all around Carranza. Nothing too crazy as of yet, I figure start with baby steps. I'm looking for neat places to check out but I'm not asking for specific directions or locations, because exploring is a large part of the fun.
Here is something that is bothering me, and I don't know if anyone could be of help. In my NJ map book, I have found a strange Icon on the map in Wharton State Forest, out by where Hapton Rd and Stokes Rd meet. Is something there? The little Icon looks almost like a crouching gargoyle (I kid you not) and it confuses me because that icon does not show up on any other map or in the Icon Glossary. It is not a fancy map book, just a Delorme New Jersey Atlas and Gazetteer. This Icon business bothers me and I've done everything just short of calling the company to figure it all out.
So that would be my crazy question. If anyone has any clue, I'm all ears. And I hope I don't sound like a complete nerd.
