EDITED: I have been shooting with the D850 since the middle of September. Excellent for landscapes, and a highly capable wildlife camera (7 frames per second, 9 FPS with the battery grip) for the occasional wildlife shooter (like me). Steve Perry, who shoots primarily wildlife, has just posted an excellent review of the D850, and states at the end of his review that he has retired his D500 crop sensor camera in favor of the D850 (with a battery grip), even though the D500 provides slightly better frames per second and buffer capability. However, the price for a "gripped" D850 is much higher than the D500.
