That is correct info. Every vegetation fire is counted (in the NJFFS response areas). From 1/4 acre on up. Prescribed burning is not included in this total. Prescribed burning was some where around 15,000+ acres for 2008 but don't quote me on that figure. The state averages about 1500-1800 wildfires per year.

where have these fires been mostly ? my parents live in tabernacle, and i'm home almost every wkend . i haven't seen anything.. and that's prime forest area..

Fire danger is extremely high this year, we had all that rain which helped the brush grow and now it's warm and dry the fuels are building up.
