I wonder if the writers are paid by the word. I think we are now well informed about the fire truck.
"Officials also revealed that an Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company fire truck was involved in a traffic collision on Route 206, but just north of Shamong, in neighboring Tabernacle Township, back in the January-February timeframe. “Our fire truck was rear ended on Route 206,” Onorato said. “It is still operational, thank goodness.” Di Croce pointed out the collision “was caused by somebody running into our truck while it was out for a call,” with Fire Company President Charles Burgin explaining the crash happened as the truck was making a right turn onto Flyatt Road. “Somebody ran into the back of the fire truck,” he said.
Burgin observed “something was wrong” with the driver whose vehicle rear ended the fire truck, but added, “I don’t know what it was, but they ended up taking him to the hospital.” Officials have since made an arrangement for a “backup fire truck” with the Delanco Fire Company, providing for coverage when the truck will temporarily enter the repair shop. Di Croce, in inquiring whether the damages are covered by insurance, was told by Onorato “we are working with the JIF (Burlington County Joint Insurance Fund) to get that covered by the person who caused the accident, which you would expect to happen.”The township administrator spoke of how the arrangement with Delanco was welcomed by the JIF “so they don’t have to go out and rent them a truck during this time frame.”
“It was nice that Delanco stepped up and made this available,” Onorato said. “We are anticipating needing it for probably a two-week period, and we don’t expect it to be longer than that.” Burgin described that the damage to the truck was “minimal, but it was over $13,000 worth of damage” that was sustained in the incident.
