No Scott, in fact my elevation here is 110 feet. But, there is a quick drop to a creek that runs into the pine plains. But it does have phragmites etc.

But of course, since I've never seen 'em, that is just my guess. I'll have to investigate. Maybe they're those small asian tiger mosquitoes.

I will bet 100% Asian Tiger. I only associate No-see-ums with salt marsh environments.
The Asian Tigers are silent and stealthy, and are active all day, unlike the standard US of A natives. We get killed by them every year in the yard.
