I have been home this morning. The rain has been very heavy and unrelenting for the past 20 minutes:

Edit: make that 30 minutes now, and raining even harder. Solid sheets of water.

Edit 9:31: it slacked for 10 minutes, now is very hard again. My pool is full, have to let water off. I estimate 7 or 8 inches since 6 am.

Edit 10:am: took 15 minutes to drain the pool down 5 inches with my one horsepower pump. The pump won out, but it was a battle. It is now raining as hard as ever.

Edit 12:07: raining steady but not heavy. Am draining the pool again. Must have gotten 10" so far.

Edit: 1:43: Sun is out. Visited Bamber Lake dam. Cedar Creek is positively boiling. It looks angry and dangerous.

Was listening to NJ101.5 at lunchtime. They said parts of Ocean County had received over 6" of rain. Wow. They had a long list of roads that were flooded and closed, including part of Rt 72 in Manahawkin, Rt 37, Rt 9 and the Lacey exit of the Parkway.

It was raining steady all night at my place, still coming down hard when I left home early this morning. Not so bad in Philadelphia. In fact, the sun was shining though a break in the clouds just a few minutes ago here at our scene shop in North Philly. Doesn't look like it will last though.

Hope everyone survives the storm!

there is some pretty flooded areas in the bayville, lacey area, just back from a quick walk in the woods and a quick drive, the spongs that were dry all summer are far from dry now, they were still dry with the last rain, the small pond at argos farm on lacey rd. is now like a lake and almost out into lacey rd. saw a few news crews around also, saw channel 3 and 6 don't know if they were ny or phila. some streets back in pinewald had water about waist deep, alot of flooded basements. ran into my brother in law in lacey a little while ago, he has water in his basement in forked river, a house on his street had the corner of the foundation washed out and the house is now leaning. I think this rain caught a lot of people by surprise, but it was well needed.
