I don't think the woods are carpeted with them, but there are some areas that they like to go, and that the rangers would like to keep them off of. Up in the Lebanon and out toward Forked River I run into a lot of them. I run into far, far fewer south of 70. I can spend whole days in the Jemima area, or over around Oswego, and maybe see two or three other vehicles ambling along. Up north there are a lot more ATVs. I have nothing against anyone who is non-destructively ambling along enjoying the woods, and I don't much care what kind of vehicle they do it in. But I have a big gripe with the sort of person for whom the woods are largely a sporting obstacle over which to drive their machine. The more of them that get busted, the better I will like it.
