What about a series of cables attached high up in the big cedars in the Great Swamp? We can create a high walkway for tourists to traverse the swamp without getting their feet wet.

I believe Hezekia Smith back in the day constructed a "Bicycle Train" from
Mt. Holly to his Smithville facility for workers mostly. It was rather elaborate and functional but eventually went the wayside. the "CARS" were these funky pedal bike assemblies that followed the rail. Now if duplicated through points of interest in the pines, that could be interesting and not quite as invasive and get you down in the thick of things. I think I would pass though.

In the interest of accuracy, I hope you do not mind a slight correction to your posting. Hezekiah Smith had already been "in the ground" for several years before the Mount Holly and Smithville Bicycle Railroad became a reality. Arthur E. Hotchkiss invented the concept and oversaw its construction. Although he did not receive his patent until December 1892, he had surveyors laying out the line in 1891. He built prototypes and a section of test track and then incorporated the Mount Holly and Smithville Bicycle Railway Company in January 1892. After proving its viability, construction began on the line in April 1892 with the first track operational by August. Newspapers announced the entire route completed by the middle of September. Following its completion, Hotchkiss sold bicycle railroads to amusement parks in the Middle Atlantic states. By 1898, the line had deteriorated to the point of being unsafe and Hotchkiss abandoned operations.
