I've been digging through some of my family's books, and found a hard copy of One Space, Many Places: Folklife and Land Use in New Jersey's Pinelands National Reserve. It was published by the American Folklife Center of the Library of Congress in 1986. I've barely started it, but I thought it would be of interest to most of you.

A pdf is available here.

Thank you uh60chick. The photo on page 20 confirms that the photo I took years ago was of the "driveway" to Joe Alberts place.

Pines; Bamber area
Very Nice! They mention my Uncle Rube and my "cousin" Merce.

Merce Ridgeway is your cousin? Did you know Mrs. Fischer (maiden name Ridgeway) then? Called her "Sis". She lived next door to me for 20 years. I beleive Merce was her brother. I also know Harry, Bud, and (?) Ridgeway. They live in Bamber. This is the father, I believe of the man you know? I've always thought this song, more than any other, defines the pine barrens to me.
